Sometimes Life Attacks Me....
Or maybe it just "feels" that way.....but lately I've been feeling rather overwhelemed....maybe I'm just overly sensitive, but I've been feeling the need for a big break....unfortunately, with my hubby's new job, that is not going to happen, so I need to settle for small breaks.
So, you know how sometimes, you just get sooo overwhelmed with everything....messy house, laundry, whiney kids, errands, hubby working too much....and you feel that you are. about. to. lose. it.....and you start seeing werid shimmery lights in your field of vision that tells you that a migrane is coming on, so you do whatever you need to do to STOP it in it's tracks???

sigh.
That was my day today.
4:30 pm.
And I had HAD IT.
I texted my babysitter, and asked her to come over.
Then I laid down and closed my eyes, after slugging down a huge glass of water.
When she arrived, I got in the pickup and drove to Kum N Go (yes that is an actual store here, I have photos to prove it) and got me a Monster Mean Bean. I ate a handful of chocolate covered Almonds, and some tylenol.
I drove and picked up a friend and we went to another friends house for a home party (Signature Home Style).
I took the most comfy chair and settled my arse in, and got myself cozy, and sat there and I yawned, and I yawned and I yawned.
Then I went up and ate the food that my friend the hostess prepared, and I had NO GUILT when I ate 3 mini eclairs, and 2 helpings of tortillini.
I laughed.
I told stories.
I listened to others stories.
And my soul was fed, my spirit rejuvinated, and my migrane was smushed.
sigh.
It was just the mental health break that I've been needing for several weeks now.
Yes, I have my Thursday morning "sanity time" but I still have 2 of my children with me.....I really really needed some ME time away, with no small hands making demands on my body.
And when I came home, I felt a rush of love for these little people who call me Mommy.
And I knew, that I made the right decision in leaving my messy house, and getting a babysitter and going!!
Sometimes we moms just need some time away to decompress.
Do you ever get that time?
what do you do when you get that time away?
how does it feed your soul and nourish your spirit?
does it make you feel so much more love for your lil ones when you return?
tell me I am not alone in this!!

I think that I might have to start crocheting again soon, since it's getting colder here!! yay!
It's rainey and gross here, so we are having an inside day.
I'm baking and the kids are playing "guns" in the basement! LOL!

another update
What have we been up to??
Well, now that school has started and we are back on a schedule, life is getting to be more "normal" again!
YAY YAY YAY!!!
We just painted the basement living room, in anticipation for the new carpet coming hopefully this week or next......
Charlie is in 4th and starting to do better in reading!!!
Hopey started Preschool and Lil Miss Sassy Pants loves it!!
She just recently played Salon with her 2 lil friends.....so we had to go to the REAL salon and get her hair fixed. EEP! that was soooo bad/funny.
Mr. Alex is a typical 15 month old sweetie....and is currently demanding my attentions....or maybe just my boobs.....
no time for photos tonight....will try to get some new ones up soon!!!!
